Hi ho --
Today's present in the mail was the box, via my agent, of the Japanese paperback edition of The Curse of Chalion. It's in two volumes (for length, I suspect), and the cover art is absolutely fabulous! Perhaps someone on the list can rustle up a link to Amazon Japan or the publisher for a scan? Or somewhere? My couple of attempts didn't turn it up.
One volume (I don't know which is which, but I suspect the fist) shows a very in-spec and nicely Spanish-flavored Caz on horseback, with a windmill in the background; the other has a clearly identifiable Beatriz and Iselle with a very interesting castle in the background. Anyway, well worth a look. Really fine.

Subject: (chat) The Czech was in the mail...

So...
The mailman brought a box today direct from my publisher Tallpress, which is in, if I remember rightly, the Czech Republic, containing 6 copies of their translation of The Hallowed Hunt. Titled Bozi Lov, with a little v atop the z and a rightward-leaning slash over the i.
Publisher's website at www.krakatit.cz/talpress according to the back cover. Frustratingly, the site does not appear to have a search function, nor are books or authors listed in any discernible order. A couple of my other titles have cover scans, but I can't find an entry for this one.
Anyway... the translation and cover are copyrighted 2006. The cover shows a couple who are not-bad renditions of Ingrey and Ijada -- Ijada is quite acceptable. I never pictured Ingrey with a beard or long hair, but at least it's the right color and he's about the right age. Snarling animal mask in the background top and generic but correct medieval city in background bottom. If anyone has better luck finding a scan of this, toss it up.
